Miso-Marinated Steak with Sesame Glaze
Miso-Marinated Steak with Sesame Glaze
Ingredients:
- 2 ribeye steaks (1-inch thick)
- 3 tbsp white miso paste
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 2 green onions (sliced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the Marinade:
- In a bowl, whisk together the miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, garlic, and ginger until smooth.
- Marinate the Steaks:
- Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Place the steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring both sides are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight for deeper flavor).
- Cook the Steaks:
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steaks from the marinade and let any excess drip off.
- Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust to your preferred doneness.
- Rest the Steaks:
- Transfer the steaks to a cutting board and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Slice the steak against the grain and drizzle with the leftover sesame glaze from the skillet (optional: simmer the leftover marinade to make a glaze).
- Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and green onions.
