Miso-Marinated Steak with Sesame Glaze

Miso-Marinated Steak with Sesame Glaze

Ingredients:

  • 2 ribeye steaks (1-inch thick)
  • 3 tbsp white miso paste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade:
    • In a bowl, whisk together the miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, garlic, and ginger until smooth.
  2. Marinate the Steaks:
    • Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel and season lightly with salt and pepper.
    • Place the steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring both sides are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight for deeper flavor).
  3. Cook the Steaks:
    • Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steaks from the marinade and let any excess drip off.
    • Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust to your preferred doneness.
  4. Rest the Steaks:
    • Transfer the steaks to a cutting board and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Garnish and Serve:
    • Slice the steak against the grain and drizzle with the leftover sesame glaze from the skillet (optional: simmer the leftover marinade to make a glaze).
    • Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and green onions.
