Beef Kofta with Spicy Yogurt Sauce
Ingredients:
For the Kofta:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 onion, finely grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tbsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tbsp olive oil (for grilling)
For the Spicy Yogurt Sauce:
1 cup Greek yogurt
1 tbsp tahini (optional)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1-2 tbsp sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
1 tsp ground cumin
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Make the Kofta:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
Shape the mixture into long, oval-shaped patties or mold around skewers if you prefer to grill them.
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat, then brush lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.
Cook the kofta for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
Prepare the Spicy Yogurt Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, tahini (if using), lemon juice, sriracha sauce, cumin, salt, and pepper. Adjust the spice level by adding more sriracha to taste.
Serve:
Serve the warm kofta with a drizzle of the spicy yogurt sauce. Pair it with pita bread, rice, or a side of grilled vegetables. Garnish with extra fresh parsley if desired.
